Apparel

Although we would love to provide recommendations on all ski gear, we find apparel particularly difficult to do online. The reason? Color preferences, style, and fit are not only subjective but often hard to nail down through text.

Instead, here are a list of manufacturers we believe provide the best options for our customers either because of value, performance, or combination thereof.

I was never a huge TNF fan, probably more because of their popularity than anything. But truth be told, TNF makes great gear and their warranty/customer service is second to none. I have a fleece that is going on 25 years old and looks as good as ever.

My go-to shell is HH for backcountry. Breathability, quality , and waterproofness are insane.

The Baker Bibs are legendary and for good reason. I use the same style but the backcountry version in the Smythe Bib. Durability is never an issue.

My favorite puffy is Rab but their entire lineup is killer, particularly for backcountry and climbing. Their commitment to sustainability makes them an attractive option.

For baselayers, Smartwool is hard to beat (although we love our icebreaker gear too!)

Narrona is certainly not the most budget friendly, but with gear this good that last this long, hard to argue with the price.

BD has been a favorite of mine as a climber, telemark skier, and outdoor enthusiast for years. Their gear just works.

Like Smartwool, these folks know what they are doing.
